Toyota Camry 1991 Only Goes In Reverse !?

Hi, The Camry runs great never had a problem with the engine but a couple of days ago the car only went into reverse I tried to have it go forward and it creeps slowly forward just barely. Do you think its the linkage on the tranny or something else. I would like to try to fix it my self. Answers much appreciated! Thanks
