Help! First time car buyer buying from Craigslist?

A few weeks ago I posted an ad on my local Craigslist stating that I was in need of a car to get me from school to work and back home everyday. I am 18 and my parents aren't going to help me get a car so I am trying my hardest to get one with the part time job I have making $400 every two weeks. A very nice man found my ad and said that he is willing to help and told me that I can buy his 1996 Toyota Camry off of him for 3 monthly payments of $600 so in total the car is $1,800. I plan on getting the car on Monday and I am just confused as to what I need to do to get insurance? The man is going to keep the title until I pay the last payment at the end of August so the car won't be in my name till then. Is this going to be a problem when going to get insurance? Also do I need to turn in the tag he had on the car and get myself a whole new tag from the tag office?
